About the Scholarship/ and University
The University of Twente (UT) is a public research technical university located in Enschede, the Netherlands. The UT collaborates with Delft University of Technology, Eindhoven University of Technology and the Wageningen University and Research Center under the umbrella of 4TU and is also a partner in the European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU). The University Twente Scholarship (UTS) is a scholarship for excellent students from both EU/ EEA as well as non-EU/ EEA countries, applying for a Master’s programme at the University of Twente.

Requirements
Applications are offered to both EU/ EEA and International students who are not part of EU/ EEA countries (except Dutch). To be eligible for this scholarship, the international students must have a student number and have been (provisionally) admitted to one of the qualifying UT Master programmes. This scholarship aims to support students financially in subjects of:

  • Systems and Control
Awards/ Grants
€3,000 to €25,000 for one year (approximately 50 scholarships are available). If you have applied for a two-year programme, make sure you read the information about two-year study programs. Please be sure that this scholarship is meant as a compensation for study related costs. It is up to the scholarship recipients to decide how to spend the money. No costs (e.g. tuition fees) will be paid on your behalf. To apply this scholarship, applicants:
  • Must be from developing countries (included in the latest OECD DAC list) who can demonstrate a need for financial assistance
  • Who are currently living in Japan under a working visa are not eligible for the scholarship
  • Who want to purse a second PhD degree at UNU-IAS are not eligible for the scholarship
Application Process
The University of Twente Scholarships (UTS) requires in online application system. You should meet all the requirements below:
  • Application for an UT scholarship is a procedure separate from the application for course entry at the University of Twente. Regardless of funding, you will need to gain an admission letter first.
  • You have been (provisionally) admitted to one of the qualifying UT Master programmes starting in the academic year 2020/2021 (September).
