Journalism Fellowships for Internationl Students Sponsored by EJC Google News Initiative in Europe 2019

The offers have been issued by Google News Initiative and European Journalism Centre for International students who are interested to pursue their study in Europe. The fellowships are available for them who want to continue their studies in undergraduate, master, and Ph.D programmes, and the those are for international students who are 18 years-of-age or older since 1 January 2019.

The fellowship is conducted in 11 European countries within 40 Fellowships Placements. The fellowship is in field of journalism, technology or design to the students who want to get valuable work experience and make a lifetime contract.

Scholarship InformationThe fellowships are open for undergraduate degrees, master degrees, and Ph.D programmes. And all the fellowship is awarded in all subjects related to journalism. The Google News Initiative Fellowship offers paid summer placements to journalism, technology or design students who want to gain valuable work experience and build lifelong contacts. This is a unique opportunity that can allow you to kick-start a career in the news industry. There are 40 fellowships available and all of the studies are conducted in Europe.

How to applyTo be eligible as applicants, the students must be following all the given criteria:
  • Scholarships are available to students from Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, the US, the UK, and Poland.
  • Entrance requirements are: (1) The GNI Fellowship is for students who are enrolled in or accepted for an accredited higher education institution in the same country as their newsroom of choice; (2) This includes undergraduate, master and Ph.D students; (3) They accept both full-time and part-time students, as long as the candidate is enrolled in an accredited higher education institutions as of 1 January 2019; (4) It is the individual student’s responsibility to ensure that he or she is legally permitted to work in the country where he or she applies; (5) You may only apply to one organization
