Scholarships for Indonesian. The ICP Master of Transportation Sciences – Road Safety in Low and Middle-Income countries offers a 2-year multidisciplinary master programme with a unique focus and approach to Road Safety in Developing Countries. The programme is supported by VLIR UOS and has 12 scholarships available each year.
The scholarships will train the students in solving the transportation problems, such as identifying transportation, creating innovative solutions for road safety by implementing an individual behaviour, environment, and the society in integrated solutions. The road safety in this programme is approached as a cross-border field, incorporating elements of psychology, economy, urban design and plan, environmental studies.

Scholarship Information:
- The scholarship will cover four aspects, which are: Firstly, monthly allowance accounted for 1150 euros per month for living costs, transport, and personal expenses. The second covering is one-time payment for indirect travel costs which is 150 euros, and thirdly is one-time payment for logistical allowance for 850 euros, and the last is for insurance, international travel and tuition fee.
- To be eligible for the scholarships, candidates must: be a national and resident of one of the 31 countries: (a) Africa: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Guinea, Cameroon, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Mozambique, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Niger; (b) Cambodia, The Philippines, Indonesia, Palestine, Vietnam; (c) Latin America: Bolivia, Cuba, Ecuador, Guatemala, Haiti, Nicaragua, Peru
- To apply the scholarships, applicants must meet the following criteria: (A) Required study level and degree programme, participants should have at least an academic bachelor degree in one of the following disciplines: Behavioural Sciences (psychology, sociology); Political and Social Sciences; Mathematical and Statistical Sciences; Economy and Transport Economy; Transport or Traffic Planning, Urban Planning or Design, Geography, (Urban) Architecture; Engineering: Transport Engineer, Civil Engineer, with minimum grade obtained: A distinction. Sufficient knowledge of the English language: The participants are expected to have both a passive and active command of the English language at a reasonable level. The participant should be able to follow ex-cathedra lessons, take notes and present some case studies themselves. Proof of English proficiency has to be submitted. This can be done or more: 1-year comprehensive English-based instruction at a university or recognized equivalent; passed for a TOEFL test (minimal score 550 PBT, 213 CBT or 79 IBT); passed for IELTS test (minimal overall band score of 6.0); passed another English test of the similar level as TOEFL or IELTS.
- (B) The candidates can only apply for a scholarship if you meet all VLIR-UOS scholarship criteria: For example, be a national and resident of one of the previous countries, and the maximum age for a master programme scholarship is 35 (on 1 January 2019).
