OAS - Werstern Kentucky University Scholarship for Undergraduate Degree
Study in the USA. The OAS General Secretariat offers an undergraduate scholarship programme to students who want to pursue their bachelor degree at Western Kentucky University for academic year 2017. The scholarship can be applied by all students who are the member states except the USA.

The scholarship’s objective is to provide financial support to the students of OAS member states at Western Kentucky University. The Western Kentucky University is one of the public university in the United States and it is founded in the early 1900s by the Commonwealth of Kentucky. This university is ranked among the best of university in the field of journalism school.

Scholarship’s programme levels: this scholarship is available for students who want to pursue their undergraduate degree level

Scholarship’s study subjects: This scholarship is granted for students from wide range of programme. It means all areas of knowledge offered by the Western Kentucky University
Scholarship’s grants: The scholarship’s award is covering following things:
  1. Onsite Undergraduate Degree Programs as listed in Annex I
  2. The University shall cover US $11,400 of the total tuition costs each year of the courses
  3. Allowance shall be provided with amount US $1,000 for top ranked candidates to aid defray the living cost

Scholarship’s requirements:
  1. Eligibility requirement: Prove an unconditional admission letter issued by Western Kentucky University. Be a citizen and/ or permanent legal resident of any OAS member states, except the United States. The nationalities are Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Barbados, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Nevis Saint Kitts and Levis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay, Venezuela.
  2. Application requirement: Applicants must have previous year degree.
  3. English Language Requirements: Proof of English Proficiency, if applicable – students whose native languages not English will be required to submit one of the following as proof of English proficiency: (1) A copy of an official transcript verifying completion of studies in an English speaking university in the last five years; (2) A test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a score of 570 or higher for the paper based test, 230 for computer-based test, or an internet-based TOEFL IBT score at least 89; (3) IELTS 6.5, or the equivalent
  4. How to apply: The application can be applied via online (1) ID – Scan or photo of passport page that contains the applicant’s full name, date of birth, and country of citizenship; (2) Admission letter – unconditional admission letter to Western Kentucky University; (3) Transcript or record of grades – copy of High School transcript or Associate’s degree transcript or transcript from current institution. Transcripts must be translated by a sworn translator if English is not the original language of the transcript; (4) Certificate or Diploma – copy of high school certificate or Associate’s degree diploma or letter of enrollment from current institution; (5) Two recommendation letters – one of the recommendation letters should be provided by a university professor and the other should be provided by current or most recent employer including the letterhead of the university/ institution, the professor’s/ employer’s position within the University/ Institution, date and signature; (6) Applicants with no work experience may substitute the recommendation letter from the employer with a recommendation letter from a second professor; (7) Essays – applicants are required to write an include two essays as part of the OAS-WKU online application form and must be written in English. Both essays should be no longer than two pages; (8) Curriculum Vitae – in English and no specific format is required. Do not include copies of diplomas, certificates or awards; only include text; (9) Proof of Additional Funds – proof that you have sufficient funds to cover remaining tuition and fees and other costs not covered by the scholarship by including one, or a combination, of the following documents with your scholarship application.
Scholarship’s deadline application: the application will be closed on November 1, 2017. The candidates are encouraged to submit the required documents before that day to prevent unexpected situation.
