The Makhzoumi Graduate Scholarship in Lebanese Studies is a sponsorship provided by the University of Alberta in Canada for intake 2017. This scholarship offers for two awardees valued for $6,000 for aiming the improve the graduates so they can have characters with the necessary knowledge and skills. The graduates which have been awarded are invited to become the influencer for their professional skills or become national leaders on their countries.

Scholarship' requirements:

  1. Eligibility requirement: Awarded annually on the basis of superior academic standing to two students registered full-time in a masters or doctoral degree program in any department within the Faculty of Arts whose research is relevant to Lebanese Studies. Student registered in masters programs are eligible to hold awards during the first two years of their programs and students registered in doctoral programs are eligible to hold awards during years one to five of their programs.
  2. Application requirement: Complete application packages will consist of three parts. (1) A completed application form; (2) A copy of the student's graduate transcripts; and (3) A letter of application addressed to the Associate Dean (Graduates Studies). The letter should outline their research interests in the study of Lebanon and its people and suggest how the funds will be used to contribute to their studies.
  3. How to Apply: Eligible students must submit their completed application package to the Assistant Chair of Graduate Studies within their department. The Associate Chair of Graduate Studies should then complete their section ("comments" section) of the application form, and submit the entire application package to the Associate Dean Graduate Studies. Participants must submit the required documents electronically as a single PDF file. Incomplete applications those received in hard copy will not be accepted for adjudication.

Scholarship' application deadline: The scholarship deadline will be closed on 31 August and the Results will be announced in November of each year
