Rhodes SJLP Scholarships
The Rhodes Scholarship is the oldest (first awarded in 1902) and perhaps most prestigious international scholarship programme, enabling outstanding young people from around the world to study at the University of Oxford. With the partnership of the Said Foundation for Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine, two Rhodes Scholarships are offered for Syrian, Jordan, Lebanese and Palestinians every year.
The University of Oxford is a collegiate research university in Oxford, England. The university is made up of thirty-nine semi-autonomous constituent colleges, and a range of academic departments which are organised into four divisions. Oxford has educated a wide range of notable alumni, and also; to date, 72 Nobel Prize laurates have studied at the University of Oxford.
Scholarship Eligibility
Applications for the Rhodes Scholarship consist of multiple stages, including selection of Oxford Course, Personal Statement, Reference Letters, and Certain Supporting Documents. To be consider as applicants, you must:
- be Syrian, Jordanian, Lebanese or Palestinian
- Have received at least 5 years of education in Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, the West Bank, Gaza or Israel
- Age: Upon 01 October 2021, you must be at least 18 and have not reached your 26th birthday
- Must have completed (or will have completed by 30 June 2022) an undergraduate degree from a college or university (normally a Bachelor's degree) to a sufficiently high standard to be admitted to postgraduate study at the University of Oxford.
- Must have a sufficiently high standard of English and have met -by the application deadline - the English Language proficiency requirements for IELTS/ TOEFL of the University of Oxford
Scholarship Awards
The SJPL Rodhes Scholarship is a full funded scholarships, which will cover full tuition fees, monthly allowance, housing and accommodation, transportation from the origin country and back, as well as books and research.
Scholarship Application Process
The scholarship application is done via online application system via http://www.rhodeshouse.ox.ac.uk/scholarships/apply. Please be notified that the scholarships application online must be submitted by 31 August 2021 Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).
