Children’s personality was affected during academic stressful-time

What is the most stressing time for people? Working, having continuous examination, or fighting with your spouse? Well those may be the most stressing time. And sometimes, the ending point of stressing is fighting. Why do people act different when they have stressing time? Does their personality alter during depression?
When discussing about stress, some people may say it comes from working. Others may argue that is happened because of fighting. Understanding people’s emotion is important due to our social life. Humans cannot live only by himself even though independent is a good way of living. But, we live in the society meaning we need others people to get interact. When the interaction is not as we expected, then the stress arrives.

But, scientists from Chinese Academy of Sciences, in Beijing, China studied important thing about stress in academic life which is essential in monitoring our children during their school’s life. The stressing time during academic life could make children’s emotions enhanced in term of continuous examination (Zhang, Qin and Yao). The scientists suggested two characteristics when children get stressed, which are sensitivity in receiving visual input and overreacting or by quoting the words from the paper “attentional prioritization”.

The personality effects of long-time stress caused by academic condition

Schools’ or universities’ life were interesting to remember including the prom night, classes, and some of us might have had first love. Despite of the unforgettable moment, examinations are something that cannot be forgotten too. The writer still remembers when he prepared everything to get high score. This was the time when we got stressed.

The stress sometimes makes people angry, but there is something interesting about this angry. When people get stressed, they are more likely to become a person who is overreacting. According to the referenced paper, they want others people to look them as a person who is looking attention, or called as “attentional prioritization”. In short words, examination will make you act selfishly.

Theoretically speaking, the selfish thing alters students to act recklessly. Although, the long-term stress always associates with cognitive deficits and augmented emotional responses, we still have to prevent ourselves from misbehavior. On the other hand, during the stress time, our visual skill is enhanced so we become more sensitive when looking, observing or seeing something.

So, for parents who have children experiencing this phenomenon must be careful in responding your children because it can affect their personality.

Augmented emotional responses is the increasing of emotional feeling so it is not only about anger, sadness, happiness, or joyful. Long-term stress particularly from routine examination conducted by the schools affects greater affective reactivity such as anxiety and depression. Even more, people who get stressed will act aggressively and exhibit aggressive words. Sometimes they intend to provoke their friends, family’s members, or spouse.

Conclusion
Using facial expression to explain others how we are feeling. But, the choosing of facial expression is important because scientists could detect the pre emotional response before the “adjectives” arrive. By understanding this process, we could know what people feel, what are they thinking about. The quality of communication between two people will be increasing and we would understand each other.
