PhD Project Description
As a PhD student, your primary duty revolves around advancing your doctoral research within the framework of this project. The principal aim of the project is to create novel sustainable materials, gain insights into energy storage mechanisms, and engineer high-performance batteries and supercapacitors. In order to realize this objective, you will be responsible for conceiving and executing experiments across various laboratory settings. Additionally, you will need to acquire practical expertise in the fabrication of high-performance battery and supercapacitor systems. It is expected that you will formulate your own scientific concepts and effectively communicate your research findings through both verbal and written means.
Furthermore, a portion of your time, equivalent to 10 percent, will be allocated to departmental responsibilities, with a particular focus on undergraduate-level teaching.
Qualification
In order to be eligible for admission as a PhD student, you are required to hold a master's degree encompassing a minimum of 240 higher education credits in a pertinent field, such as chemistry or materials science. Having prior experience in areas like energy storage, organic synthesis, or materials characterization would be considered advantageous. Furthermore, achieving success in this role necessitates a high level of motivation, a problem-solving mindset, and a preference for collaborative work within a larger project rather than working independently on isolated tasks. Proficiency in English for effective communication is also essential. If Swedish is not your native language, Chalmers University offers Swedish language courses to support your language development.
