PhD Scholarships: Production of Valuable Chemicals from Gaseous Waste



The University of Queensland, located in Australia, has been a public research university with a global topic of research. Currently, the scholarships are offered for international students who are interested in pursuing their PhD level in University of Queensland, in the topic of production of valuable chemicals from gaseous waste.

This project aims to develop innovative biotechnology to enable the conversion of waste carbon dioxide into industry-relevant liquid chemicals. The PhD projects will focus on development, operation, and characterisation of pure and mixed culture fermentation systems at both bench and pilot scales.

Scholarship Eligibility

To be eligible, you have to prove you are prepared for PhD study. You do to this by showing you:
  • have completed some research experience
  • have completed an approved university degree, and
  • can meet the English language requirements

Scholarship Awards

The scholarships are offered for new students both domestic and international students in the PhD level. The awards are provided in form of living stipend scholarship including full tuition fees with the value of AUS$28,597 per annum (2021 rate), indexed annually. The coverage years are three years with the possibility of two 6-month extensions.
