Scholarship in Bremen International Graduate School
The Bremen International Graduate School of Social Sciences (BIGSSS) offers an international doctoral researchers for international students who are interested in carrying out social science research. With the collaboration of German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), this offer is sponsoring two new positions named as Graduate School Program (GSSP), to perform a research with theme "Global Inequality, the Middle Classes, and the Welfare State" (GloWel).
The scholarship program is offered for continuing PhD level education at the university by covering a stipend from the DAAD of 1,200 euro per month plus additional benefits for 4 years of study.
The BIGSSS is an international inter-university graduate school in the social sciences, located at the University of Bremen and Jacobs University Bremen, Germany. It is part of a global network of highly acknowledged graduate programs.
Application Requirements
- You are an international applicant, proficient in English language (speaking and writing)
- You must not have resided in Germany any time after February 15, 2020
- Your MA degree must be completed and the validation of the degree must be available by May 15, 2021, which means you may apply before having finished your MA degree
- At the time of application, your last final exam must have taken place no longer than 6 years ago
- You have an excellent MA degree (or national equivalents) in Sociology, Political Science, Psychology or related social science disciplines e.g. Law, Economics, or Media Sciences
- Your dissertation project in the field "Global inequality, the Middle Classes and the Welfare State" aligns with the research focus of one or several of our program Pls
- You have an interest in pursuing a PhD in a structured PhD program and in actively engaging in the events and activities at an international graduate school
Scholarship Benefits
The scholarship is offered with the collaboration of DAAD and BIGSSS, with award for 1,200 euro per month (plus additional benefits) for 4 years of study
