France is one of the countries that have been targeted by international students in continuing their studies. The French higher education system is one of the best in Europe, and the world. Dozens of French universities are regularly placed high in international university rankings, and many of the public universities charge students with a very affordable tuition fees.

The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Program was established by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs to enable French higher education institutions to attract top foreign students to enroll in their masters and PhD programs. It gives opportunity to the future foreign decision-makers of the private and public sectors, in priority areas of study, and encourages applicants up to 30 years old from developing countries at master’s level, and applicants up to 35 years old from developing and industrialized countries at PhD level.

Requirements
International students (except French students) are eligible to apply for these endowments. Thus, candidates with more than one nationality, and one of which is French are not eligible to apply this scholarships. The candidates’ ages are not more than 30 and 35 years of old for master and PhD program respectively. Several required and supporting documents including statement of purpose, letter of motivational, English language proficiency certificate, and any educational certificates must be prepared.

Awards/ Grants
Since the scholarships offer applicants for Masters and PhD levels, therefore:

For Master level, the Eiffel Scholarship consists of a monthly allowance of 1,181 euros ( a maintenance allowance of 1,031 euros and a monthly stipend of 150 euros). In addition, the following benefits are covered: (1) International transport which is a round-trip international ticket from country of origin to France; (2) National transport which is a train ticket to the first study location as well as a train ticket from the last study location to the airport for the return to the country of origin; (3) Local transport which is a reimbursement of up to a maximum of 50 euros of the trip between the airport or train station and the first study location (taxi or public transport); (4) Health insurance by Campus France, for the time needed to register to French Social Security, for students from outside of the European Economic Area (EEA); (5) Mutual health insurance; (6) Cultural activities. Subject to certain conditions, students may also benefit from a housing allowance, within the 3 months of following signature of the housing contract.

For PhD level, the Eiffel Scholarship consists of a monthly allowance of 1,400 euros (a maintenance allowance of 1,031 euros and a monthly stipend of 369 euros). In addition, the following benefits are covered: (1) International transport which is a round-trip international ticket from country of origin to France; (2) National transport which is a train ticket to the first study location as well as a train ticket from the last study location to the airport for the return to the country of origin; (3) Local transport which is a reimbursement of up to a maximum of 50 euros of the trip between the airport or train station and the first study location (taxi or public transport); (4) Health insurance by Campus France, for the time needed to register to French Social Security, for students from outside of the European Economic Area (EEA); (5) Mutual health insurance; (6) Cultural activities. Subject to certain conditions, students may also benefit from a housing allowance, within the 3 months of following signature of the housing contract.

Application Process
Only applications submitted by French higher education institutions are accepted. You are an institution, and you have already participated in the Eiffel program. You should have received an email concerning the download of application files. If that is not the case please contact or visit the Scholarship Link. The timeline of the scholarships stars on 21 October 2019, and the deadline for the reception of applications by Campus France is on 09 January 2020.
