Why people do abuse or domestic violence?

Abuse or domestic violence is currently happening perhaps nearby your house. Domestic abuse happens to people within in relationship, for instance, husband and wife, or a spouse, or a domestic partner. But, sometimes domestic violence also happens in relatives, such as, children or parents. The violence is not limited to physical contact, but it also is categorized as emotional and sexual abuse. Interestingly, early research stated that domestic abuse is experienced by low-to-middle income families, implying to developing nations. So, what makes people do domestic violence?

Given that the domestic violence is illustrated as the tendency of abusive of an individual to attack anyone which has been perceived as vulnerable either in term of physical or emotional, then abusive relationship mostly is experienced by women, children, and elder people or parents. The tendency of abusive acts could be affected by many factors including workplaces, social skills, or economic stress. In this writing, the causes are briefly described why people do abuse!

According to the encyclopedia of mental health (Thackery & Harris, 2003), there are eight (8) causes of people doing abusive acts. And those are including lack of educational experiences, ignorance and developmental timetable because of working, economic stress, and lack of social support and resources. Another factors are mental disorders, belief system in certain civilization for instance in Southern part of Asia.

Occupation and economic stress are the main cases happened to people doing abusive relationship. In this case, the parents are very busy, so they cannot manage their time. Consequently, they feel exhausted, but at the same time their children need them in social communication. Due to the empty of energy, parents experience anxiety disorder causing anger, and it leads to abusive relationship. With the inability to communicate with their neighborhood, this type of parents is lack of social support.

Given that the economic stress is getting higher, some parents are unable to control their anger. Some of them reveals their anger by drinking alcoholic beverage, or sometimes consuming anti-depressant drugs. Although these two consumptions are not affected the abusive actions directly, but it can alter people’s feeling or mood in quicker time. In addition, the cost of a drug habit often gives addictive for resenting the needs of dependent person.

In conclusion, abusive relationship happens because the people who have been involved to each other do not communicate to each other. And many cases reported that quality time among them is low.
