The university has been recognized globally and it is the largest and it is one of the Austria’s largest and distinguishing higher institutions. The university of Graz was founded in 1585, and it has six faculties.

The University of Graz currently offers Doctoral Scholarship Program in Accounting, Reporting and Taxation. And these scholarships are offered for international students from around the world. The annual salary after taxes and social security contributions amounts to about 20,000 Euros. As the scholarships are offered in International Program, English is essential. And the applicants are required to demonstrate their English proficiency either in IELTS or TOEFL with enough score.

Scholarship’s awards:

  1. DART scholarship is funded by the Austrian Science Fund. In accordance with the Austrian Science Fund’s guidelines for doctoral programs, DART scholarship holders are paid a salary for a period of 3-4 years. The annual salary after taxes and social security contributions amounts to approximately 20,000 Euros. Provided that the costs for living and housing in Graz or Vienna, this salary enables the scholarship holders to concentrate on their studies.
  2. Scholarships will be granted for a three-year period. For scholarship holders who spend research period of at least six months at a qualified university outside of Austria. This period can be extended to up to four years.
  3. PhD students who already have to fund from other sources can also apply for DART membership as associated doctoral students. They are subject to the same application procedures and qualification criteria as students with scholarships. Associated doctoral students are fully integrated into the DART curriculum.
  4. The respective universities provide the doctoral students with sufficient office space on campus. Offices are equipped with the usual furniture and standard personal computers with access to the universities’ IT infrastructures. The universities provide rooms for meetings and workshops for the DART doctoral program.

Scholarship’s requirements:

  1. Eligibility requirement: International students are eligible to apply for this scholarship. To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, candidates must meet the following requirements: (1) Complete applications which meet all formal admission requirements will be evaluated by the admission committee. Based on this evaluation the best applicants will be selected and will be invited for an interview.
  2. English Language Requirements: The candidate for the scholarship must submit one of the following English exams including TOEFL iBT overall score 80; TOEFL ITP overall score 567; IELTS Academic score of 6.5. 
  3. How to apply: Applications must contain the following elements: (1) A completed copy of the application form; (2) curriculum vitae; (3) letter of motivation containing your career plans and reasons for interest in a doctoral education in accounting; (4) transcripts of grades in English or German; (5) two confidential letters of recommendation from faculty members who can assess your capacity to carry out independent research; (6) a writing sample consisting of a paper written in the course of your Master’s studies and dealing with an accounting subject, e.g. a Master’s thesis or a seminar paper; (7) GRE/ GMAT and TOEFL scores or scores from similar tests.

Scholarship’s deadline application: the application will be closed on 31 March 2018. The candidates are encouraged to submit the required documents before that day to prevent unexpected situation.
