Furthermore, they found that women who don’t already have diabetes or develop diabetes during pregnancy will affect the development of their fetus during the first trimester of pregnancy.

Over than 19,000 pairs of mothers, and their babies which were born between 2009 and 2014 were involved so that the researchers collected their medical record. The researchers examined their details about their prenatal health conditions, including the blood test results and any cardiac diagnose after birth for the baby. The data shows interesting point that over 800 infants were diagnosed with congenital heart diseases.
The researchers also found the relationship between the blood glucose levels and the potential risks of heart-defect. They stated that every increase of 10 milligrams per deciliter in blood glucose levels in the early stage of pregnancy could level up the risk of congenital heart defect for 8 percent.
