Paracetamol affects the fetal's reproduction system during the pregnancy |
Taking paracetamol affects the female's offsprings fertility. According to the recent studies, the mothers who take paracetamol during their pregnancy either when catching cold or just as a painkiller develops changes to their reproductive system. And that impacts the offspring future fertility.
Paracetamol or acetaminophen is actually consumed by lots of pregnant women in the world. This pain relief medication is used for pregnant women in order to reduce the pain which is developed during the pregnancy. Interestingly, there is linked associated also to male consumers and surprisingly it also affects their reproductive system.
Biologically speaking, everything that is consumed by the pregnant mother is significantly affected the baby. So, the exposure of chemical compounds either in digestive or radiational method during pregnancy increases the developmental effects. However, this may not be seen in the future life as it is not manifested much. But, females human are born biologically with eggs for their reproduction system which can directly provide effects to unborn-daughters. In this studies, the researchers and scientists from Copenhagen University Hospital set up experiments to rodents which is given paracetamol during their pregnancies. To obtain certain results, the dosage which has been used by pregnant women was also given to the pregnant rodents too.
The results are shockingly unbeliavable. The studies found that the rodents which during their pregnancy were given same level of paracetamol dosage of pregnant women produced fewer eggs (the eggs which is available for reproduction) than those which did not take paracetamol. This implies also to their offspring.
Although the findings are not directly related since the object of testing is rodents, but there is possibility of link that paracetamol could affect to female's reproduction of living mammals. But, one thing that is sure from this study is the high level of consumption increases the risk of causing developmental effects, and those are including the paracetamol itself.
