Post-doctoral fellowships at Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences in Canada, 2018

One of the best institution in Canada, the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences is proud to invite Canadian students for participating in applying the Postdoctoral Fellowship. The applicants/ candidates must be nominated by one or more researchers/ scientists from any departments that have affiliation with the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences (PIMS).

The fellowship will be granting at least $25,000 to the students in addition to support their study during the post-doctoral program. The PIMS is one of the well-recognized mathematical institute in Canada established in 1996 under supervision of universities in Western Canada and the Northwestern United States. The first aim is to promote research and excellence in field of mathematical sciences comprehensively.

Scholarship’s programme levels: The fellowships are open for students who want to pursue their postdoctoral programme.

Scholarship’s study subjects: As the aim of this scholarship is to support research in the field of mathematical sciences. Therefore, all areas that are related to mathematical sciences are available to be applied.

Scholarship’s grants: The fellowships will be covering following aspects: The awards will provide amount for at least $25,000 and the sponsor is required to provide additional grants to support the financial aspect such as monthly stipend for $50,000

Scholarship’s requirements:

1. Eligibility and Entrance requirement: Applicants must have a previous year degree and the only applicants that are available to apply are Canadian students
2. English Language Requirements: Proof of English Proficiency, if applicable – students whose native languages not English will be required to submit one of the following as proof of English proficiency: (1) an internet-based TOEFL IBT score at least 89; (2) IELTS 6.5. All the English proficiency depends on higher level required by the University.
3. Please be aware that: (1) The application is by nomination only; (2) unsolicited applications will not be considered. Successful nominees who also receive another major fellowship continue to be PIMS PDFs but may not receive both stipends; (3) Postdoctoral fellows associated with Collaborative Research Groups will go through the same nomination and rigorous review processes; (4) All nominees must apply through MathJobs and this includes nominees from PIMS Collaborative Research Groups; (5) Postdoctoral candidates from institutions in France are eligible for CNRS/ PIMS fellowships
