A person who does not have any problems is a dead man. It could
be true because problems which force us to live. However, the quote does not
relate to the motivation of living, it is more simple than motivation but it
has higher understanding than motivation.
In facing problems, we as a human is more likely to avoid it
if we could. Surprisingly, how matter we try to avoid the problems the more we
are caught by them. Therefore, the main activity in interacting between human
and human is decision making. This is also one of features of interests we have
so that we are different to electronic devices including robots. The capability
of our brain in making decision has led us to survive on this planet.
Interestingly, the way of growing in this world and the
development of the era have moved the problems into several level. There are
some problems who are considered causing big effect are difficult issue so that
are difficult to solve and decide. Others, we see those as a little issue which
can be okay if do not solve those. However, either it is difficult or not we
are more likely to become default other than making a difficult decision. Our brain
amazingly suggests us about those default states are known as dilemma and
invites us to leave the issues.
This relationship according to some expert in field of
neurosciences is related to brain work. Neurophysiological evidence has
suggested there is a role of the Subthalamic Nucleus which is responsible in
commencing the status quo characteristic. Or could be this our survival
instinct in case we do not want to take even a little of risk? Well, it could
be true until the recent study has investigated that the decision we made was
influenced by the Subthalamic Nucleus conducted by researchers in University
Hospital of Magderburg, Germany from eighteen patients.
The experiment was applied for the patients which had the
medication of dopaminergic since they had had Parkinson disease and they were
tested during the experiments based on their medical cycle. The test was
instructed to complete the task in several sessions and they had to complete
two counterbalanced in one sessions in a day. The test to the patients involved
the Subthalamic Nucleus throughout the deep brain stimulation so that it resulted
the patient with condition of ON and OFF stimulus.
